Why we published our formula

Most recovery supplements list their ingredients. Very few publish the amount of each one. The gap between those two things is where most of the industry's credibility problem lives.

We publish ours. Here's what's in Pregame and why we chose to put it all on the label.

The problem with "proprietary blend"

A proprietary blend is a standard industry move. Companies bundle all their active ingredients under one number: the total weight of everything combined. You see the ingredient names. You don't see how much of each one is in there.

The practical effect: a company can put a trace amount of an expensive active ingredient to justify its name on the label, then fill the rest of the capsule with cheaper material. You'd never know from the label.

Dosage is the whole game. The difference between 50mg of DHM and 300mg of DHM is the difference between a supplement that might do something and one with real mechanistic support. We wanted people to be able to look at the label, look at the research, and make an actual assessment.

What's in the bottle

DHM (dihydromyricetin) is the lead ingredient. It supports the liver enzymes, specifically ADH and ALDH, that your body uses to process alcohol and its byproduct, acetaldehyde. A 2012 UCLA study found DHM reduced intoxication effects in animal models. It's the most studied ingredient in this category and the reason Pregame exists.

NAC (N-acetyl cysteine) is a precursor to glutathione, your body's primary antioxidant. Alcohol depletes glutathione, which is a core reason oxidative stress spikes when you drink. NAC supports antioxidant defenses by helping replenish the precursor.

L-theanine is an amino acid found in green tea. It promotes calm, focused clarity. We added it because a morning supplement should support how you feel when you wake up.

Taurine is an amino acid that supports fluid balance and electrolyte regulation. Alcohol disrupts fluid balance through more than one mechanism, and taurine covers a piece that plain water and electrolytes don't.

Milk thistle (silymarin) has been used as a liver-support herb for centuries. The active compound, silymarin, has antioxidant properties and is the most studied botanical for liver health specifically. It works through a different mechanism than DHM, which is why both are in the formula.

Ginger is there for digestive comfort. Some people experience nausea or GI sensitivity the morning after drinking. Ginger has a long track record in that context.

B vitamins. B1, B2, B3, B6, and B12. Alcohol blocks B-vitamin absorption and speeds up depletion. B vitamins are cofactors in hundreds of metabolic processes, including energy production and nerve function. Alcohol depletes all of them, which is why we put in the full complex.

Vitamin C is a water-soluble antioxidant. Alcohol generates oxidative stress, so antioxidant support is relevant. Vitamin C works alongside NAC and DHM on that front.

Electrolytes. Sodium, potassium, magnesium. Alcohol suppresses the hormone that tells your kidneys to hold onto water, so you excrete more fluid than you take in. Electrolytes replace what water alone won't.

Why transparency is the product

A transparency claim only holds if there's something real behind it. Every ingredient in Pregame has a published mechanism. Every dose is on the label. The formula page has the full breakdown with the reasoning for each one.

This post exists because we believe the reasoning matters as much as the formula itself. If you can look at what's in the bottle and understand why each ingredient is included at the dose we chose, you don't need to take our word for it. That's the standard we want to be held to.
